Sometimes people ask, why go to Melbourne Beach? Because they haven’t heard of it and it isn’t touristy. But we say those are exactly the reasons people should come here. Melbourne Beach is a very cool little town with a unique history and natural beauty. Maybe you want secluded luxury: breakfast in bed, extraordinary linens, a spa tub, in house massage, glass of champagne and a picnic lunch for the beach. Or, maybe you are looking for that old fashioned beach town experience: sand, sun, a good burger, cold beer, local history, environmental beauty and quaint small town atmosphere in a VIP setting.

At Port d’Hiver you can have it all...an island within an island. Once inside, with the pool, fountains, tropical plants, great food and friendly staff, guests often forget that there even is an outside town. Activities abound both on land or by sea. We offer in house massages and guests can visit Essentials Spa, just a short drive from the inn, which offers a full array of services. Next door, the Black Dog bait shop introduces guests to the wonders of fishing both on the Indian River Lagoon and on the beach. Hit the beach with complimentary use of chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards. Play a game of chess, checkers or backgammon in our sunroom or explore the mangroves and Pelican Island by kayak. Within walking distance are restaurants of all kinds, from burritos and fish tacos to 5 stars dining with live piano or jazz. A visit to Kennedy Space Center or Orlando theme parks makes for a perfect day trip and are only an hour or so drive from Port d’Hiver

Things you will need to know... We keep it intimate, with only eleven guest rooms, Port d’Hiver can sleep up to 25 guests. Each room has flat screen TVs, wireless internet, DVD players, private bathrooms, and individually controlled AC. To ensure the privacy and comfort of our guests, we request gatherings reserve the entire inn. We do have a two-night minimum stay requirement, but how could you have a memorable beach vacation in less than two days? Sorry, no pets or smoking permitted and we do not offer any official meeting space, but we do have a living room and courtyard that could be used for a small gathering.

What does this all cost? Well, the rates are dependent upon the amount of time that you would like to visit. The longer you stay, the better deal we will make you! Our reunion package includes a full breakfast either on your deck or in our dining room, 5:00 social hour with wine and appetizers, complimentary bottled water, sodas, snacks, coffee, tea and cookies 24 hours a day. We have full concierge services and in the evening provide turn-down with a sweet treat. Also available for our guests are all the supplies needed for a day at the beach including beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers and bicycles.

Our philosophy for running the Inn is to exceed expectations. We love to surprise people with treats and want guests to have an even better experience than they thought they would.
